About Alex
I love the fact that I grew up in the best place in the world—Arlington, VA—right outside our nation’s capital. Being raised in one of the most diverse areas in the world with such history and culture adds an exclamation mark to my beginnings.
Growing up athletics played a major role in my life. I was involved in many sports (soccer, tennis, and basketball), but soccer was my obsession—playing through my collegiate years. I believe that growing up in a team-based environment impacted my outlook on life and my ability to connect and build relationships very easily with people.
I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Numbers have always been a passion. After graduation the plan was to take real estate courses and become a Real Estate Investor. That did not come right away though, as I entered the corporate world. Some people can spend their whole entire life being an employee and working endless hours to climb up a ladder…I knew that wasn’t the path for me.
At the age of 24, I became a Real Estate Investor and did my first deal shortly after. Was I the most knowledgeable investor out there? Most likely not, but I was definitely the most eager to learn and grow in the field. I did my share of traveling all over the East Coast to learn from the best and networked my butt off to build relationships with other local investors. I learned a lot…and years later managed to maintain many close friendships.
A few years later, I met a group of people that introduced me to a new marketing concept called Social Media. I remember going home that day to Google the term and was immediately enamored by the concept. Traditional marketing was changing and Social Media was the reason. Every single investor I knew relied solely on direct mail to reach clients and prospects, but I immediately visualized a world of new marketing potential through the power of the internet and social networks. Social Media opened my eyes to a whole new world….a world that has yet to reach its peak…a world that I want to be a part of it when it does.
